Dr. Marcus Hoffmann is an accomplished senior executive who brings over two decades of top-tier consulting and leadership experience directly to the automotive industry. Currently serving as the Lead Client Partner Automotive for IBM Germany, he operates as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and corporate boards, driving large-scale corporate transformations, strategic execution, and end-to-end digitization across the global value chain. His ability to bridge the gap between deep technical implementation and high-level business strategy is grounded in an exceptional academic foundation, featuring a Ph.D. in Engineering and an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, alongside an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Hagen. Furthermore, his extensive international background includes guiding multicultural, cross-functional teams within major global markets like China, Japan, and Russia.

Before transitioning to IBM Germany, Dr. Hoffmann was a Managing Partner and Shareholder at Boyden International GmbH, where he drove executive client acquisition and orchestrated strategic transformation agendas. This role followed his successful entrepreneurial venture as Founder and Managing Director of DMH GmbH & Co. KG, which established an exclusive investment partnership with Boyden. His distinguished career in top-tier management consulting features prominent leadership roles, including serving as Managing Director, Partner, and Shareholder at PwC Strategy& GmbH, where he co-headed the European Automotive Strategy Practice. He also previously held partner-level equity positions at Bain & Company and served as Partner and Global Client Head at A.T. Kearney. Prior to these appointments, he led Deloitte’s German Automotive Operations Strategy Practice, building on a foundational nine-year tenure as Partner at Roland Berger, where he headed the Automotive Practice in China from 2008 to 2010. Dr. Hoffmann initially launched his consulting career at Droege & Company after completing his tenure as a research scientist and doctoral student at RWTH Aachen University.
